Music & Food: Universal languages allowing us to connect across boundaries.

About Us

Dewey’s Jazz Lounge was created from a true love of music, passion for exceptional food & drink, and a desire to unite community members. Dewey’s intends to create a vibrant environment where everyone feels welcome to come listen to talented, local musicians and enjoy craft cocktails & modern American cuisine.

The name Dewey's is inspired by co-founder Kenny’s cousin, Dwight R. Jarrett, who passed away in 2014.

Located on Worthington St. in downtown Springfield, Dewey’s Jazz Lounge will open on June 12, 2021.

Kenny Lumpkin

A Western Mass native, Kenny and his three sisters were raised by his mother Pamela in Springfield and Easthampton. Kenny graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and is also the owner of New Foundations Realty Group where he offers support to property owners facing financial distress.

Kenny started in the restaurant industry over 10 years ago working at several high end Boston restaurants as a busser, bar back, and server. His love for jazz music and creating genuine connections with other people is what motivated him to open Dewey’s. Kenny intends to not only develop a space where people can thrive socially, but also where he create for the community that helped shape him.

When he’s not working, you can find Kenny spending time with his family, traveling, or being active on the social justice front.
